What You’ll Learn -what’s involved?

This practical face-to-face training combines both theory and hands-on learning to help you confidently and safely inspect, test, and tag portable electrical equipment in your workplace or environment.  Metrotest’s trainers have real-life test and tag experience that they draw on to give you real training that matches your expectations, what it’s really like to test and tag and expect from testing for yourself or as a third-party provider.

During the course you’ll cover:

  • What the AS/NZS 3760:2022 standard requires for compliance and beyond for safety
  • How to conduct visual inspections and electrical safety tests
  • How to use a Portable Appliance Tester (PAT), with a range of testers available at a training course.
  • Practical demonstrations and hands on supervised testing
  • Written and practical competency assessments- to ensure you are in fact deemed competent.

If you don’t have a PAT tester, Metrotest has got you covered, providing PATs and equipment for use during the course, and will guide you through what to look for if you need to buy your own tester matching your needs to the best solution so you don’t end up with a lemon.
